General Ledger
Updated over a week ago

The general ledger keeps records of every financial transaction during the lifespan of a company. It has all the information needed to prepare your company’s financial statements, such as P&L and balance sheet.

Important Notice: General ledger items in "Accounting > General ledger" are tied to transactions and offices. To edit or delete them, ensure the transaction is in the original office where these items were created.

To access the General Ledger, go to Accounting > LEDGERS block > General ledger tab.

Viewing and Filtering Records

Once you're in the General ledger section, you'll be presented with a fresh new page that displays all the journal entries and records related to your brokerage, including subaccounts. Here's how you can make the most of this page:

Record Display

  • All your financial records are neatly organized and displayed on the General ledger page.

  • Each record's name, along with relevant details, will be shown for your reference.

How do I filter data in the General ledger?

  • You can filter the displayed data to focus on specific information.

  • Filters available include:

    • Office: Filter records based on the office they are associated with.

      • The office filter is available only for admins in case they manage subaccounts.

    • Date: Filter by specific dates or choose "month-to-date" for records within the current month.

    • Amount: Filter records based on a specific amount range.

    • Payment Type: Filter records based on the type of payment.

  • Apply the filters that suit your needs to narrow down the displayed records.

To reset the filters, set each of them to any.

Identifying Received payments

  • Received payments are indicated by the "(RECEIVED)" suffix added to the record name.

  • This makes it easy to identify received payments at a glance.

How do I export General ledger records?

The General Ledger provides a convenient way to export records for your records or further analysis. Follow these steps to export records:

  1. Apply any desired filters to display the specific set of records you want to export.

  2. Locate the "Export" button on the top right of the page.

  3. Click the "Export" button and get your CSV file downloaded.

The export feature is filter-sensitive, meaning it will export the data currently visible on the screen, considering any applied filters or default settings.
