How to edit comments

Updated over a week ago

Keep your notes accurate and up-to-date by editing comments after they're posted. When you edit a comment, you can notify team members and contacts about the changes.

Important to know

  • You can only edit comments you've created

  • Comments can be edited within 72 hours of posting

  • You can currently edit your comments in:

    • Transactions

    • Account activity

    • Checklist tasks

    • User profiles

    • Contacts

    • Agent onboarding tasks

  • Comment editing for buyer offers will be available soon.

Edit an existing comment

  1. Navigate to the comment you want to edit (in a transaction, checklist, or user profile)

    1. Comment must be less than 72 hours old

  2. Click the three-dot icon > Edit next to the comment

  3. As the comment section becomes active again, make your changes to the text

  4. Click Save

  5. Your comment now will have the (edited) suffix; hover on it to see when it was edited

The comment updates immediately, and selected recipients receive an email notification about the change.

Pro Tip

When editing, consider that some team members may have already read the original. If you're making significant changes, consider mentioning what was updated.

How notifications work

Within 5 minutes of posting (grace period)

  • Edit freely without triggering notifications

  • The original @mention notification hasn't been sent yet

  • Perfect for fixing quick typos or adding missed information

After 5 minutes

  • @mentioned users receive a new email notification about your edit

  • The email includes your updated comment and all relevant context

  • Each edit after the grace period triggers a new notification

What happens when you edit a comment
